The Islamic Educational, Scientific and
Cultural Organization (ISESCO), in
association with the Muslim World
League-affiliated Holy Quran Memorization
International Organization (HQMIO), and in
coordination with Darüsselam Vakfı in
Turkey, will hold an educational meeting for
Quran memorizers, on 3-7 July 2010.
The meeting will bring together over fifty
Quran memorizers from Saudi Arabia, Egypt,
Yemen, Syria, the Philippines, Sudan, Sri
Lanka, Benin, Kyrgyzstan, France, Tatarstan,
Australia, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Turkey.
The meeting is aimed at celebrating Quran
memorizers; improving their knowledge;
teaching them new skills; strengthening
their sense of belonging to the Muslim Ummah;
preparing them to contribute to sustainable
development, and boosting Quran education
through the structuring, planning,
development, follow-up and reform of Quranic
institutions.
It will also consider ways to take advantage
of the successful experiences of such
institutions, and promote the use of such
modern technological media as the internet,
satellite channels and software in Quran
education, while highlighting Quran
memorization methods and ways to assess and
develop them; and encouraging communication
among Quran education experts and experience
sharing among memorizers.
Dr Youssef Abou Daka, Programs Specialist at
the Education Directorate, will supervise
the meeting on behalf of ISESCO.
