The fourth international meeting of Muslim
youths is being held by the Union of Muslim
World Nongovernmental Organizations (IDSB)
from July 12 in Istanbul, Turkey.
According to timeturk, the meeting is
organized every two years with the
participation of 185 young Muslims from 45
countries to discuss the current issues and
problems of the Islamic world.
Participants at the fourth meeting are
discussing the history and culture of
Islamic countries as well as “Islamic
civilization” which has been selected as the
theme of this year’s meeting.
Regarding the objectives of the meeting,
Necmi Sadıkoğlu, Director General of the
union said, “About half of the world’s
population is made up of youth under 25
years old and it seems necessary for all of
Islamic countries to be aware of the needs
of the generation who are considered to be
the heritage of the world of Islam.”
“That is why we gather Muslim youth from all
over the world every two years to learn
about their thoughts and beliefs and to
familiarize them with the role they have to
play as followers of the holy prophet (PBUH)
in various social, cultural and religious
arenas,” he added.
The fourth international gathering of Muslim
youth continues until July 18.
