DOHA (Qatar), Dhul HIjjah 22/Nov.28 (IINA)-Islamic scholar
Sheikh Mohamed Daniel from Britain is the keynote speaker at
the ‘Islam for Peace - Here and hereafter’ conference being
held today at the Doha Boys’ Preparatory School near Jaidah
flyover.
The event is being conducted by Qatar Indian Islahi Center (QIIC)
in association with other organisations and official
departments, including Fanar.
The programme will begin at 5pm with a Malayalam
presentation followed by an Urdu presentation and an English
presentation.
Qatar Foundation vice chairperson Dr Saif al-Hajari will
inaugurate the conference.
Sheikh Mohamed Daniel has attended numerous peace
conferences in different parts of the world, including
Qatar.
He has authored numerous articles on Islam and society that
have been published in various popular magazines, as well as
appeared in various TV programmes, online video sites,
addressing matters related to Islam, inter-faith dialogue,
human rights and extremism.
Professionally, Daniel is a Cambridge
University-credentialed language specialist.
Doha-based scholar Sheikh Abdul Basith Umari, research
scholar in Arabic Dr Mausthafa Farookki, Kerala High Court
senior advocate M K Chandramohan Das, Indian entrepreneur C
K Menon and Indian Cultural Centre president K M Varghese
will also speak. Noted scholar and orator Abdul Haseeb
Madani will be the main speaker in the first part of the
programme at 5pm.

president K N Sulaiman Madani, general secretary Latheef
Nallalam, organising committee chairman Dr Wandoor
Aboobacker, general convener U Hussain Mohamed, convener
Mohamed Issa, vice chairman Shamsuddeen Olakara and patron
Hassan Chougle.
